Facebook Pixel for WooCommerce

Client Background:

Rahul runs a Jewelry business with a website using WordPress WooCommerce. He wanted to track all activity on his site. I assisted him in setting up a comprehensive tracking ecosystem, including Facebook Pixel, GA4 events, Google Ads, and Remarketing tags.

In this case study, we will explore how I configured Facebook Pixel with manually implemented Advanced Matching Parameters for his website.

Challenges:

According to Facebook’s official documentation for Advanced Matching, user data needs to be provided in the following  Format

After Enabling Data Layer, I  got user data from web site not in ideal format required for Advanced Matching

Solution:

I use Google Tag Manager to handle Tags, Triggers, and modify Data variables, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking and Pixel implementation.

🌟I use JavaScript to get the User data in Ideal Format mentioned in Official Document.

Implemented Ecommerce Events Name:

  1. Page View
  2. ViewContent
  3. AddToCart
  4. InitiateCheckout
  5. Purchase

Let’s explore what I have done for him!

Created Meta pixel (Facebook) Tags and Triggers in GTM.

Created a lots of Variable to Get & modify User Data for Advance Matching Parameters.

In Google Tag Manager, I use the Facebook Pixel Tag Template and had enabled Advanced Matching.

I configured the relevant variables within the Customer Information  Data Parameters with Ideal format.

Following the Standard Events Doc, Configured the  required Object Properties for each event.

For Purchase Tag, I configured the relevant variables within the Customer Information  Data Parameters with Ideal format.

Following the Standard Events Doc, Configured the  required Object Properties for each event.

After thoroughly testing in  GTM Preview Mode to ensure data accuracy, I published the container and made it live.
